£70m bid for Harry Maguire....
Rejected.

I just don't see it, decent enough player for sure, but £70m? Would you get into the first 11 of any of the elite teams in world football? Would he even be a guaranteed starter in front of Balbuena & Diop?

Leicester won’t take £70 million. ManU need to fill there British quota. And Maguire wants to play for a world class manager. And that ain’t Ole.!

It’s great.

If Bonzo got his boots back on, he'd be "worth" £2 billion.

Astonishing quote/price for a pretty basic lump of a player.
Mad times.

I repeat, do you really think I'm bothered by what you say, son?

Still, I'm thick for putting Di Canio in the same bracket as Ronaldo.

Agreed, if the idiots are prepared to pay stupid money for Maguire, good luck to them.

Personally a 7 out of ten player for me but as long as their wasting money and not going after Rice/Diop Im happy.

The fact you put Di Canio and Ronaldo in the same bracket shows your fucking intelligence, or lack of it.

Re: £70m bid for Harry Maguire....
He's very good, not world class and I would say probably the level below Van Dijk, Laporte and Alderwereld in the PL.

Goes to show what a bargain we got when you consider Diop and Balbuena cost about 25m combined.

Re: £70m bid for Harry Maguire....
No world beater but a solid defender and English, yes he has a mistake or two in him but most do, is he worth 70m, no not for me but transfer fees have gone crazy so it´s not a surprise that 70m is the figure banded about!!

People would be creaming themselves over Maguire if he were spanish.

He's an excellent CB, we're lucky he's english.

Re: £70m bid for Harry Maguire....
FH, considering Bissaka's played about 220 games less than Maguire, I think Harry's a bargain if comparing the two. I agree the fees are ridiculous but that's what you're paying now for any English players with talent

When I look at defenders, I think how would he defend against Ronaldo and di canio in their prime.

much as I love Paolo he is levels below either Ronaldo!

I guess he is English and NOT John Stones so that boosts the price.

Re: £70m bid for Harry Maguire....
Don't get me wrong, he's a good player - I watched the Man City v Leicester game towards the end of last season and he went on an incredible solo run from the edge of his own box deep into the opposition half.

I just don't really see much about him to suggest he could be or already is world class. Maybe the shortage of genuinely world class centre halves in the Premier has driven his price up, but he is a million miles away from Van Dijk. I certainly wouldn't instantly place him into the West Ham team ahead of Balbuena.
